Directions for Use: This product is intended for "targeted" protection, either in conjunction with another sunscreen, or when only small areas of skin are exposed, such as the hands and face. For full protection, apply liberally (2mg/cm2 of skin) to exposed skin, then rub in to reduce whitening effect. For children under 6 months of age: ask a doctor.
Reapply Natural Sunscreen: After 80 minutes of swimming or sweating. Immediately after towel drying. At least every 2 hours.
Sun Safety Tips: Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease these risks, regularly use a sunscreen with a broad spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and practice other sun protection measures including:
Limit time in the sun, especially from 10am - 2pm.
Wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats, and sunglasses.
Be wary of very high SPF sunscreens. Sunscreens with really high SPFs, like SPF 50, SPF 75 or SPF 100, do not offer significantly greater protection than SPF 30 sunscreens. These very high SPF numbers can provide a false sense of security, encouraging people to spend more time in the sun, and sometimes causing people to get burned. High SPF sunscreens usually offer far greater UVB than UVA protection, thus offering a false sense of full protection. SPF 15 blocks 93% of UVB rays, SPF 30 blocks 97% of UVB rays, and SPF 50 blocks 98% of UVB rays - as the SPF numbers get larger, the margin of improvement gets smaller. It is very difficult to attain higher SPFs with just using mineral active ingredients. It’s complicated, but to keep it simple, most dermatologists recommend using a SPF 15 or SPF 30 sunscreen.
